In the past, all the LED displays we are familiar with were rigid. It seems impossible to combine the word “soft” with an electronic display, but the appearance of flexible LED screens breaks this perception. Unlike the traditional LED display using rigid PCB board such as glass fiber materials, the LED flexible screen uses a flexible FPC circuit board, and uses rubber materials to make masks and backcases, and a series of special designs such as special locks and linking devices to ensure the flexibility of the LED display and complete the bending shape that cannot be achieved by other ordinary screens.
Flexible LED display working principle:
The working principle of the flexible LED display is similar to that of the traditional LED display, which displays images and videos by controlling the light and off of the LED pixels. The flexible LED display consists of multiple LED modules, each of which is composed of multiple LED pixels connected by flexible materials such as a flexible PCB or a flexible plastic substrate. Inside the LED module, each pixel is composed of three colors of LED light-emitting diodes (red, green, blue), which can be adjusted by controlling the brightness of these leds to achieve high-quality images and videos.
The controller of the flexible LED display sends a signal to the LED module to control the light on and off of pixels, thus presenting images and videos. The controller of the flexible LED display usually uses a traditional controller and microprocessor, which can be connected to the computer, mobile phone and other devices, through the network or transmission line to receive signals and control the LED module.
The working principle of the flexible LED display also includes the control of the flexible material, so that it can bend, fold, stretch, etc., so as to adapt to different application scenarios. This process requires the study and control of the physical and electrical properties of the material to ensure the performance and reliability of the screen.
The common application areas of LED flexible screens are also places with special shapes, such as shopping malls, bars, stages, and so on.
In addition, the flexible LED screen also has more advantages, such as single point maintenance, seamless splicing, high efficiency and energy saving, which are not available in the traditional LED display.
